OVERVIEW
Get ready to navigate the sacred lake of the Incas, "Lake Titicaca" considered one of the most popular and beautiful in Peru was the birthplace of the Inca empire’s legend.
In this tour, we will visit the unique floating islands of the Uros and Taquile Island; a circuit with walks through very peaceful places and incredible views of Lake Titicaca.
Taquile Island, home of textile art declared an intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO because of the representative and symbolic nature of its colorful typical costumes. Currently Taquile is considered as "The fourth most beautiful islands which are in lakes". Its beautiful background and culture become Taquile into a destination that every tourist should visit at least once in lifetime.
ISLAND UROS AND TAQUILE TOUR IN 1 DAY
At 7:00 a.m. our staff will contact you for picking you up from your hotels (downtown), to transfer to the Puno port. And board a speedboat, which will take us to Uros Floating Islands. A group of family islands inhabited by experienced swimmers and builders with extensive knowledge about the use of reeds, where we will visit two of them; our guide will give you a detailed explanation of the main activities, customs and the construction of the Islands.
Continuing with the tour, our second stop is in Taquile Island, will begin with an uphill walk to view the beautiful landscape that the Sacred Lake offers us, there you will be able to feel calm, explore the area and breathtaking the view of Lake Titicaca. In addition, we will be able to appreciate the fine symbolic fabrics made by the inhabitants of the island, textiles are not only beautiful, but also have a deep cultural value. Also, the family will show you its beautiful typical clothes.
After lunch, we will return to the port to board the boat that will take us back to the city of Puno, arriving at approximately 3:30 p.m.
